Dr. Armando Ponce is an accomplished higher education professional with a proven track record of success in various leadership roles. Holding a Doctorate in Education from Northcentral University, he specializes in Leadership in Higher Education. Dr. Ponce began his career in student affairs at South Texas College, where he served as the Coordinator of Student Activities and Wellness for over a decade. He played a pivotal role in developing and implementing various student programs, including the Student Leadership Academy, Intramural Sports Program, and the Campus Programming Board.
In 2013, Dr. Ponce joined Texas Southmost College (TSC) as the Director of Student Life and Recreation Center. He went on to become the Executive Director of Athletics and Civility, managing various departments and representing the college at local, regional, state, and national meetings. Dr. Ponce has made several noteworthy contributions, such as securing a public transportation contract for students and developing TSC’s athletic program.
In addition to his administrative experience, Dr. Ponce has been an adjunct faculty member in Sociology at TSC and South Texas College. He has developed and taught various courses, including the first online and OER Sociology courses at TSC.
